A 20-year-old singer/songwriter from deep in the mountains of Arizona, Zella Day makes electro-charged, guitar-driven alt-pop that's steeped in a magic of her own invention. Kicker is an intimate but gorgeously expansive album named for an Apache man from Zella's childhood who helped awaken her musical side by introducing her to "all these beautiful stories that stretched my imagination, and ended up making me see the world so differently.
