Stewing after his school expulsion for bullying, Julian Albans (Bryce Gheisar) got a surprise visit from his Parisian artist grandmother (Helen Mirren). To give him insight into compassion, she relates how, as a girl (Ariella Glaser) in occupied France, her family was rounded up by the Nazis-and how her survival depended on sheltering from a polio-lamed classmate (Orlando Schwerdt) and his family.
