Only the laughter's contagious in this uproarious chemical warfare comedy starring Elliott Gould, Eddie Albert, Harry Guardino and Godfrey Cambridge. A gullible private, Dudley Frapper (Gould), has served his country for 15 years as a human guinea pig in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps. So when he's kicked out without a pension after the side effects render him useless, Frapper steals the Army's nerve gas to rob a few banks and get his revenge on the service. Costarring Jennifer O'Neill, Whiffs was produced by George Barrie, the owner of Faberge cosmetics. An ex-musician-turned-entrepreneur, Barrie also wrote songs for his films, sharing a 1975 Oscar nomination with lyricist Sammy Cahn for "Now That We're in Love," a tune they composed for the picture.
