WETA Workshop - The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - The Fellowship of the Ring: 20th Anniversary Art Print

Winner of seventeen Academy Awards, The Lord of the Rings was brought to the big screen by New Line Cinema and directed by Peter Jackson. Weta Workshop was intrinsically involved in the design and physical effects manufacture for all three films.

The dimensions of the print are 23.2in x 11.7in (590mm x 297mm). A lovely cinematic format. Exactly the same size as the previously released prints.

As the brave companions of the Fellowship journey south amongst jagged peaks, the Misty Mountains rise like a great wall of rock and snow: vast and insurmountable. Having set out from the haven of Rivendell and lead by Gandalf the Grey, the four Hobbits, Elf, Men, Dwarf, and pony seek a way through the mountains to the lands of the east beyond.

Weta Workshop designer Gus Hunter depicts the Fellowship in the early days of their secret quest to ferry the weapon of their enemy, the One-Ring of Sauron, to Mordor, the one place where it can be destroyed. This beautiful print celebrates the 20th anniversary of Sir Peter Jackson’s feature film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

This moment has been expertly captured by Gus Hunter: long-time Weta Workshop conceptual designer who started on The Lord of The Rings trilogy alongside Jeremy Bennett and was an early adopter of the digital painting techniques Weta uses today.
