We Were Strangers

Out for revenge following the murder of her brother by the Cuban secret police, bank clerk China Valdés (Jennifer Jones) is approached by American revolutionary Tony Fenner (John Garfield), who convinces her to join his movement. Fenner plans to dig a tunnel from China's basement to a nearby cemetery in order to set off a bomb at a funeral attended by several top government officials.
