The present recording, originally a coproduction of the German Polyband company and the Italian Fratelli Fabbri publishing house was the first to feature the same singers for the principal figures who appear a number of times in various parts of the tetralogy: Wotan, Brennhilde, Siegfried, Alberich, Mime, Fricka, Erda, Fafner and the Rheinmaiden's.
