Ustad Khan Sultan - Alap: Morning and Afternoon Ragas

Ustad Sultan Khan plays the viola-toned bowed sarangi. He offers unaccompanied alaps in early morning ragas Basant Mukhari and Lalit and afternoon ragas Shuddh Sarang and Bhimpalasi. He has avoided the pyrotechnics which usually distinguish his performances, offering a sober and peaceful glimpse into the melodic essence of each raga.
