Urban Surf Kings - Live in Hell

Canada's East Coast instro-nuts, URBAN SURF KINGS, features Rev Hank Mumps on guitar, Crash Flagg on bass, and Inky on drums. Heralding from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the 10 year old band combines the surf sounds of the 60's with Atomic Age sci-fi, B-movie Horror, Mancini Mania, and plenty of espresso. URBAN SURF KINGS have 8 releases to date, and appear on many compilations (including OmOm's 'American Graffiti Revisited', a Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet tribute, 'Jesus Christ Surferstar', and others). 2005 features the release of 'Live in Hell' (OmOm, Italy) in conjunction with the band's 10th anniversary. URBAN SURF KINGS were nominated for a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award (best instro CD, 2004), for a Genie Award (best Canadian Soundtrack, 1999, 'Canadian Oscars'), and won the soundtrack award at the Atlantic Film Festival (1999) for their work on director Thom Fitzgerald's feature film Beefcake. Other soundtrack work includes the feature films 'the Event' and 'That Boy', the theme for the animated series 'Wenchell Bogum', the theme for the Playboy Animation finalist 'Sexxxy Doll', and the short 'Giant Cow'. Their music appears in the Hawaiian lifestyle tv show Boardstories, and other extreme sports videos. Several tunes from the 'Get Instro-MeNTAL!' CD appear in the new television series '15-Love'. With a fan base that extends around the world (including North & South America, Europe, Asia & Australia), Urban Surf Kings may be the busiest surf band in Canada.
