Trying and failing to build a life for her illegitimate infant daughter, a young woman (Claudette Colbert) puts her up for adoption and ekes out a living as a cabaret thrush. Years later, she's able to hide her checkered past and land an opportunity as a kids' radio show host, and perhaps use her new forum to track down her child.
