In occupied France, novitiate Sister Clothilde (Barbara Britton) was all too familiar with the cruelties the Nazi invaders subjected her countrymen to. When downed, intel-bearing American pilot John (Ray Milland) made his way to the convent, she was ready to provide shelter-and to replace the arrested operative slated to pose as his wife in a perilous trek on foot to safety.
