The Shout (Criterion Collection)

Can the mysterious Crossley (Alan Bates) truly kill with just a shout taught to him by an Aboriginal shaman? That's what he purports to composer Anthony Fielding (John Hurt) and his wife Rachel (Susannah York) when he becomes a guest at their home in the English countryside. A deadly scream may not be Crossley's only power, however, as it seems Rachel has become quite enthralled by him. Robert Stephens, Tim Curry co-star in this unsettling horror tale from director Jerzy Skolimowski. 86 min.
