Sixtysomething New York hausfrau Marnie Minervini (Susan Sarandon) could be overbearing on her best day... but, at loose ends after the loss of her husband, she headed to L.A. for 24/7 insinuation into the life of her screenwriter daughter Lori (Rose Byrne).
