The Idiot Box

On the heels of "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," MTV brought in Alex Winter to head up this half-hour sketch comedy offering that framed music videos with 10 minutes of outrageous slapstick bits featuring Eddie the Flying Gimp from Outer Space, tetanus-afflicted cop Lockjaw, and more. Besides Winter and co-creator Tom Stern, performers included Ricki Lake, John Hawkes, Lee Arenberg. The framing sequences from all six episodes, plus plenty of extras, are included here. 98 min.
