The Ascent (Criterion Collection)

This stirring Soviet drama is set during World War II and focuses on Sotnikov (Boris Plotnikov) and Rybak (Vladimir Gostyukhin), partisan soldiers captured by the Germans in Belarus while searching for food for their unit.
