In this rugged, mid-1950s-set Australian drama, veteran sheep shearer Foley (Jack Thompson) takes a job at an Outback sheep station. Though he holds out hope that one day he'll find a new career, Foley romances his boss's daughter (Lisa Peers) as he and his co-workers become embroiled in a bitter strike when their livelihood is jeopardized by the presence of non-union workers.
