EuroArts presents this welcome re-issue of one of the highlights from the Waldbuhne in Berlin - this 2001 performance featuring the remarkable violinist Sarah Chang and incomparable soprano Ana Maria Martinez with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of none other than Placido Domingo! Sarah Chang shines in virtuosic show-pieces including Sarasate's Carmen Fantasy and Gypsy Airs, and Ana Maria Martinez (winner of the Plaícido Domingo Vocal Competition) performs a simply delightful selection of zarzuela arias. Also included is a bonus film "Conversation with Plaícido Domingo and Sarah Chang" and a behind the scenes look at what it takes to put on a production at the Waldbuhne in Berlin - one of Europe's ideal outdoor amphitheaters. It is home to the Berlin Philharmonic's summer concerts, which are among the most popular classical events in the world, attracting audiences of more than 20,000 people.
