2014 album from the modern Alt-Rock outfit. Recorded in four studios over a year, there's a new mix of sound and dynamics on this record. The musical range is reminiscent of mid-80's Replacements in it's variety and sincerity cut with wit. Devitt's lyrics have grown more empathetic and detailed: At once sweet and biting. Recurring themes of family, home, and personal growth (or arrested development) all inform the album. Ultimately, Southside Desire is a brilliantly unified album, capturing a collection of deeply personal and emotional moments and disguising them as pop songs.
