Often inaccessible, perched out on a cliff or established on an island, sea-bird colonies are often out of bounds in order to assure their protection. Thus anyone simply out for a walk or the amateur ornithologist rarely has the chance of hearing these surprisingly strong and beautiful sounds. On this CD the listener can become absorbed in 62 minutes of the fascinating world of sounds of seabird colonies recorded at a few remarkable coastal sites: A rocky Norwegian coast, the Brittany island of Rouzic, a rocky outcrop on the Cotentin coast, Normandy, France, Dumet Island on the Atlantic coast of France and Riou Island on the Mediterranean coast of France.
