On the Floor With Your Mom was originally released in 1991. It is skater-punk-metal-something, the Ramones meets Slayer. Slam Suzzanne was a crazy ass live band; hilarious and total rock at the same time. The band featured metal drummer Ty-mber (hey, she's a girl!) high octane bass and guitar with Richie and Rob and the truly insane vocal antics of Phil Bentz, formerly of punkers The Dehumanizers and inventor of the Nohawk. Green Monkey Records wanted to put their stuff out from day one. They recorded at a fancy studio and got mixed by Tom Hall who was the metal dude in Seattle at the time. They didn't really sound like anything else on the label. Still don't. They w-ere also the only GMR band then that actually got in a van, went out and toured. Their band pretty much short circuited when Tymber got hit by a drunk driver at a gig in Olympia. By the time she recovered, life had moved on (she's quite fine nowadays, thx). The songs were all written by the devil may care early 20's Richie Ray. They have lots of cuss words, particularly "fuck" (please see track #7), which have moved increasingly into the popular vernacular since. In 1991 Richie liked to say fuck. Now everyone does. In 2006 Slam Suzzanne was featured on KEXP (below) as FCC unworthy. Now the father of a 10-year-old lad, Richie has at last seen the light, making this Slam our first ever "Parental Warning" release. Feels good! So why put this masterpiece/oddity out again in 2014? Plain and simple - the world needs this. So do you. Way Old Coverage KEXP 2006 --Music That Matters Vol. 30 is available now. John Richards hosts the first of a series of podcasts featuring music that he would like to share with listeners, but cannot play due to FCC regulation against profanity on the airwaves. You'll hear original, unedited versions of songs from Thom Yorke, The Gits, Thee Emergency, Slam Suzanne and many more. You'll also learn a little bit about the FCC. Check out the tracklist... 1.Slam Suzanne - I Like To Say Fuck "...finally, a Seattle band that doesn't sound like Soundgarden. This is a joyous glam punk party without the hair-spray. We liked "Perforated Condom" the best" Jeff Gilbert, Guitar World, August 1991.
