A classic "One Hit Wonder", Sammy Salvo made the US Top 40 with only his second record, 'Oh Julie', and spent the rest of his career trying to get a follow-up record away. Sammy often joked that most artists start at the bottom and work their way up, whereas he'd started at the top and worked his way down! He nonetheless recorded an impressive body of work, with many of his 45rpms having become seriously collectable over the subsequent decades, e. g. 'One Little Baby', 'Wolf Boy', 'Afraid', 'Mushroom Cloud', 'The Bully Of The Beach', 'Throw Me In A Crowd Of Girls' and 'Night'. This first-ever compilation of his recordings comprises everything Sammy released between 1957-62, across five different record labels, plus a heavily-bootlegged acetate recording, 'Cause I Love Her', which has also gone on to become a collectors' item over the decades.
