UK collection. Having served time with Blues Incorporated, American-born vocalist Ronnie Jones was one of the most soulful singers on the British R&B scene of the 1960's. Ronnie set a template for R&B singers based in the UK, followed by Herbie Goins and Geno Washington. His popularity on the scene, when backed by The Night Timers came close to rivalling Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames. He recorded a string of highly collectable 45's for a variety of labels during the 1960's, before settling in Italy where a second career took hold. Satisfy My Soul is the first-ever collection of Jones' early recordings, including a rare vocal with Blues Incorporated, an American-only single ('Satisfy My Soul') and tracks with backing bands The Night-Timers and The Blue Jays. Jones recorded with some of Britain's finest jazz and R&B musicians of the period, including John McLaughlin, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, John Paul Jones, Alexis Korner, Ritchie Blackmore and Nicky Hopkins, as well as hit producers Andrew 'Loog' Oldham and Les Reed. Ronnie has collaborated on this worthwhile project and is interviewed for the sleeve-notes by Nick Rossi. The booklet boasts numerous rare photos and cuttings from the period.
