Rock Bunnies - Speedmachine

The new great band from Austria/Tyrol are the ROCK BUNNIES, a young Hard Rock band featuring the well-known Hard Rock/Heavy Metal guitarist Klaus Schubert from the Hard Rock/Heavy export: NO BROS Vocals, 2nd Guitar, Bass and drums are in the hands of four very talented girls. Especially the vocals of Tici Weitstreicher, who is the leading lady of the band, are really outstanding. With a warm timbre, incredible volumina and a pure rock basis in her voice for sure she is one of the best female vocalists in Austria. A true sensation! The only other male musician who 'is allowed' to work for the girls is the keyboarder Andi Brunner, another band member of NO BROS. The ROCK BUNNIES were already active under the name BLUES BUNNIES, but because of the turn to much more rock in their music the name change was inevitable. So the 16 songs have not only a clear powerful production. Many parts remind us, maybe because of the fine hammond organ, of super groups like DEEP PURPLE, URIAH HEEP, WHITESNAKE and even early RAINBOW. The totally convincing ballads On a Better Way", "Carry On" und "Let Me Down" with a lot of feeling and great musical harmonies stand side by side to powering rockers like 'Speed machine', 'Under my skin' and the catchy tune 'Kill the lion'. But that's not all. Even songs with a small blues influence are included in this fantastic album, as well as some cover versions. Especially the NO BROS song 'Heavy Metal party' was one of the most important Austrian rock songs during the 80s and if you listen to it right now in comparison to the new version from the ROCK BUNNIES you will say: The new version is even better than the original one! So thumbs up for one of the most promising Austrian bands around in this new decade featuring four incredible power ladies and some of the strongest musical material ever heard from the Tyrolean Alps!
