Richard House Joan Arnem - Buccaneer Ball / Melodies Bring Memories

An extremely rare sentimental pop single from a simpler time, "Buccaneer Ball" b/w "Melodies Bring Memories" is a split single with male vocalist named Richard House on the "A" side, and the wonderful but equally obscure Joan Van Arnem on the "B" side. Originally released in 1959 on the tiny Wanderlust label, both tracks feature lovely, sparse orchestration from arranger Gordon Vanderburg. "Buccaneer Ball", which features House, sounds like it might have been written as a theme song for a TV show that never made it into production, while the "B" side features a beautiful vocal from the talented Van Arnem, complete with dreamy steel guitar and mellow clarinet. This lost pop gem has been newly remastered for this exclusive release.
