I lent Quan, singer and guitarist for Regurgitator, my Marshall JCM 800 combo amp to use for a couple of nights on tour in Adelaide shortly before this record came out. Even today I still hear the fruits of my generosity in the music of this record. What I love about Regurgitator is that their music sounds like it was made by people with a brain. I know most of the best pop music works because it operates on parts of the body well away from the cerebral cortex, but this record manages to combine the instantaneous gratification of the best pop with a wit and intelligence that gives the record genuine longevity.
