This release is a beautiful recording of both Vivaldi and Piazzolla's Four Seasons, performed by the Orchestra of Saint John's at SJE Arts in Oxford on November 21st 2015. The album features violinist Jan Schmolck and conductor John Lubbock. Musicians, critics, and concert promoters say that the Orchestra of St. John's is one of classical music's best kept secrets. The chamber orchestra was founded 48 years ago by John Lubbock and boasts some of the most exceptional musicians in the UK. They have performed all over the world including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic Hall and London's Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Royal Festival Hall with world famous soloists. As well as performing at venues and festivals all over Europe and abroad, the group appears regularly at St. John's Smith Square in London. They also present a series of Prom concerts each year in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and their own music festival "Music in the Abbey" at Dorchester on Thames, now in it's sixteenth year, plus concerts at the new venue, SJE Arts in Oxford.
