In early-'90s Canada, musician-performance artist Sonny Lee (Emily Lê) and alternative cartoonist Chester Brown (Dan Beirne) had been together a few years when she declared she was falling for someone else. Their choice to pursue an open relationship-with his opting to explore intimacy with sex workers as a new path-fuel the revelatory moments that followed, in this provocative dramedy.
