Osvaldo Pugliese - La Yumba

Osvaldo Pugliese was determined to be an innovator, but will probably be best remembered as a composer who was respectful of tradition. Pugliese's tango seems to be literally tied to the dance that physically expressed it. He turned the Argentinian tango scene upside down by making 'modern' music, but without any abrupt changes, and he managed to bring the public around to this by working in a style which was complex, rich, subtle and accessible.
