Orpheus Descending

Vanessa Redgrave stars in this scorching motion picture version of Tennessee Williams' classic Orpheus Descending. Lady Torrance (Redgrave) lives a loveless life in a boring southern town - until Val (Kevin Anderson), a handsome young stranger in a snakeskin jacket, brings out her long-forgotten sexual passion. While they give in to their forbidden desire, Lady's tyrannical husband lies dying. Jabe Torrance (Brad Sullivan) may be too weak physically to satisfy his wife, but his Klan is powerful enough to kill the flame between the lovers; and burn the body for the young man who fired her lust.
