Odell's debut release is full of ragged, heavily amplified country blues. Odell shares much in common with his late friends R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough and also his uncle Albert King. The 12 tracks range from gripping solo performances of standards like. 44 Blues, Laughing to Keep from Crying and Sitting on Top of the World, to raucous band performances featuring support from guitarist Bill Abel and Lightnin' Malcom on bass and drums.
