Medical scientist Geoffrey Gaines (Stephen Ramsey) moved with his artist wife Lillian (Miriam Healy-Louie) to a remote farm in upstate New York, as a possible salve to their troubled union, and for privacy as he immersed himself in immune system and transplant experiments. The researcher's frustration with his progress leads to a shocking act in this off-the-wall mix of sci-fi spectacle and psychological suspense.
