Digitally remastered and expanded edition of the legendary album Black Flower, recorded by the UK band Nirvana in 1969. Black Flower was the final album under the Nirvana name to feature the duo of Patrick Campbell Lyons and Alex Spyropoulos, who had recorded two classic albums for Island Records in 1967 and 1968 (The Story of Simon Simopath and All of Us). Black Flower was begun with the intention of being Nirvana's third album release for Island, but Island founder Chris Blackwell declined to release the project, returning the master tapes and rights to Campbell Lyons and Spyropoulos. Black Flower eventually appeared at the end of 1969 on the American label Metromedia Records under the erroneous title Dedicated to Markos III, actually a dedication on the album artwork and not the album's intended title. The record was withdrawn soon after release with the collapse of the label. The album was issued by Pye International in the UK, but was also withdrawn from release after a very limited pressing run. Now released under the title originally intended, this edition of Black Flower has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes and includes five bonus tracks (three of which are previously unreleased). The wonderfully illustrated booklet features an essay by Malcolm Dome and an exclusive interview with Patrick Campbell Lyons.
