Monica Richards is back with a blast with her second solo album, NAIADES, featuring guitars and bass by horror writer, Steve Niles. As a writer, composer and singer, NAIADES (named after mythological Greek sea nymphs) adds new elements of Monica's tribal style to harder rock anthems and neoclassical soundscapes. With the addition of Niles's raw style, NAIADES creates an all new level of expression: ' a melt-in-your-ear masterpiece, a perfect mix of strength and vulnerability in both sound and vision'. Accompanying the music is a 32 page hardcover board book which is 7' wide by 8' tall, full of artwork made just for the music. I have some of the most amazing comic and pop culture artists helping me create a gorgeous atmosphere for NAIADES. ARTIST ROSTER (*Exclusive Artwork just for NAIADES): *Bernie Wrightson (Swamp Thing, Creepshow) *James O'Barr (The Crow) *Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin, The New Mutants) Miran Kim (X-Files, Deadtime Stories) *Kelley Jones (Batman, Sandman) *Nat Jones (Death Dealer, 30 Days of Night) *Menton3 (Silent Hill, Monocyte) *Chrissie Zullo (Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love) *Andrew Mangum (Grimm Fairy Tales, American Wasteland) *David Ocampo (Freelance Artist and Colorist with Andrew Mangum) Milx (Silver Surfer, Wake the Dead) *Jordie Bellaire (Colorist for Hellraiser, Planet of the Apes) *Don Bishop (Traditional Artist) *Cathy Ashworth (Traditional Artist) Jim Neely (Anafae) *Lee Kelly (Abstract Artist) *Daniele Serra (Fade to Black, Teenage Timberwolves) Naiades is 'an album not to be missed...crafted out of paint, clay, paper, stars, mud and sea....what's left...the journey of a great artist...Monica Richards truly gifted in her craft.' - Jules Cohen, Grave Concerns Magazine. 'I hope you are able to lie back with headphones, a drink, some spacey incense, and cell phone off. Like some of the great bands of old, Monica has captured the ability to transport you to other worlds. She leaves you totally unaware of the mundane surroundings.' - Beth "Wytchskate" Kelley, Pagan Radio Network 'Monica is ever evolving with a keen sense for poetic expression, and these songs reach to the depths of despair and to the heights of resurrection. Listen to the lyrics and you can actually feel the emotions that Monica puts into her songs. As any true artist can, she's created an eclectic mix of songs, from music that you can dance to, to a spoken word track that tells a tale that is personal yet relatable.' - Lisa Selvaggio, Paragon Music Magazine.
