Recorded by Francois Jouffa. Commended by the Sri Lankan government in order to add to the country's national archives, these recordings present an art that is disappearing expressed by it's last great masters. More than "simply" percussionists, singers and dancers, they are considered as spiritual guides and their exorcism rites appeased the soul and body. The titles featured on the present album are valuable documents as these men had always refused to be recorded, believing that each session is a privileged moment of spirituality and that it's transcription would break the magic.
