Murphy is a vocalist who truly improvises his performances & takes the risk of spontaneous extemporization - he's back in the studio for his long-time friend Joe Fields for the first time since their days with MUSE Records, turning his attention to pop standards ("Old Black Magic," "Why I Was Born") as well as jazz classics (Jimmy Rowles' "A Timely Place," Cedar Walton's "Life's Mosaic").
