Cascading strings has, over the years, been the preferred choice of many an orchestra leader, yet it is with Mantovani that it is most closely associated. Between 1955 and 1972 he recorded over 40 albums, many of which were chart hits and which saw him tackle everything from film themes to waltzes and Broadway. This particular album was his first chart album in the UK, reaching a more than respectable #4 on the charts, proof that even though the Rock 'n' Roll invasion was in full swing, there was still room for something a bit more melodic.
