One of the most popular American R&B vocal groups of all time, The Manhattans formed in 1962 and have had a string of hit records spanning four decades. Original member Blue Lovett left the group in 1990 due to health problems but decided to return to the music scene with his own Manhattans in 1995, bringing back lead singer Gerald Alston. With the addition of Troy May and David Tyson, brother of The Temptations' Ron Tyson, the group is now a quartet. In 2001 the group released the fine album “Even Now” which is presented here in its entirety. In 2008 the group signed to the legendary Swamp Dogg’s S.D.E.G. label and, as an added bonus, included here are bonus cuts from their first recording with the new label from 2008 – “Men Cry Too” and three mixes of “Shorty,” featuring rapper Screechy Dan. All selections have been newly remastered.
