Ulysses (John Malkovich) is a high-tech, state-of-the-art android built in the image of his reclusive, socially awkward creator (also played by Malkovich). When public relations expert Frankie Stone (Ann Magnuson) is hired to teach Ulysses about human emotions and interactions, she finds she may be a little too good at her job as she and the metal man start to fall for each other.
