Snooty rich girl Jessie Montgomery (Ally Sheedy) gets a lesson in humility when her fairy godmother (Beverly D'Angelo) "erases" her from the lives of her loved ones. A college dropout who never worked a day in her life, Jessie now has to take a job as a live-in maid to an eccentric family, and she quickly learns how the other half lives.
