Lying Lips

A nightclub singer (Edna Mae Harris) is framed for murder and sent to prison in this drama from writer/director Oscar Micheaux. Known for his complex approach to films about race relations, Micheaux's cast includes Robert Earl Jones as the detective trying to prove the singer's innocence. Among the featured musical numbers are 'You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby', and 'Chinatown My Chinatown'.
