It was 1996 in Serbia, student unrest with the brutal and corrupt regime of Slobodan Milosevic was on the rise, and sensitive 15-year-old Stefan Nikolic (Jovan Ginic) was struggling to reconcile his love for his single mother Marklena (Jasna Djuricic) with the fact that she was a highly visible government functionary.
