Liszt/ Lajko - Franz Liszt: Faust Symphony

Franz Liszt was obsessed with the legend of Faust. He also composed several pieces based on works by Goethe and Lenau on Faust. Among these copmositions, Liszt's main symphonic work, the Faust Symphony, which he continued elaborating over several decades, is the most outstanding. In this release the Symphony is performed on the piano, in the transcription of Carl Tausig, one of Liszt's favorite students. This album is a world premiere recording.
