There are very few Voodoo drummers who have attained the important stature of Le Gip. His followers, whose numbers increase every year, are believers in his magic powers. His influence on them extends well beyond his actual performance. Unlike other Voodoo men, Le Gip mesmerizes his listeners into a trancelike state with sexual undertones. Desires are aroused with wild circles and dances that can culminate in orgies which lead to the complete exhaustion of the participants.
