Laurent Medelgi - Circles: Live at 55 Bar

Laurent Medelgi is a fine young guitarist who mixes the bebop of Kenny Burrell with the filigree of Pat Metheny. Hailing from Paris, Laurent picked up the guitar at age 12, and has travelled a diverse path during his career, playing classical, new wave, rock, jazz/funk, and then finally on to jazz. This album was recorded live at 55 Bar and features Laurent in a trio configuration with bassist Steve LaSpina (Jim Hall, Pat Metheny) and drummer Bob Meyers (Joe Lovano, John Abercrombie), two of today's finest jazz accompanists.
