Last Days in the Desert

As he neared the end of his 40 days' wander in the sands of the Judean, an exhausted Jesus (Ewan McGregor) encountered a young man (Tye Sheridan) who-against the wishes of his stern father (Ciarán Hinds) and dying mother (Ayelet Zurer)-wished to make his own life in Jerusalem. As the Nazarene struggles with how best to counsel the family, he finds himself taunted by Lucifer (McGregor, again) as to whether he can solve their problems... or the world's, in writer/director Rodrigo Garcia's compelling speculation. 98 min.
