In 2012, seasoned saturation divers Duncan Allcock (Woody Harrelson), David Yuasa (Simu Liu), and Chris Lemons (Finn Cole) were effecting oil rig repairs some 300 feet down in the North Sea. Equipment failure caused their support ship to drift, dragging them from the site and snapping Lemons' tether-leaving successful rescue all but impossible.
