La Mixta Criolla - Afro Taino

La Mixta Criolla is a dynamic music and dance ensemble founded by percussionist, singer, songwriter Hector Lugo. The group's distinctive sound balances the color and range of the Puerto Rican and the Venezuelan cuatros, the bass guitar, and the accordion, with the percussive drive of the barrel shaped Bomba drums, the panderos of the Plena, and the g-ícharo- bong-ó tandem of the M-úsica J-íbara of the Puerto Rican countryside.
