GDM Music is glad to present on a special edition CD the OST by Ennio Morricone for the movie "La classe operaia va in paradiso" directed in 1971 by Elio Petri and written with Ugo Pirro and starring Gian Maria Volontè, Mariangela Melato, Salvo Randone and Luigi Diberti. The movie won the Grand Prix as best movie 1972 Cannes Film Festival. "La classe operaia va in paradiso" explores through the character of Ludovico Massa known as Lulù (Volontè), the universe inside the Italian factory in the '70s, telling the alienated relationship of the working men with the machine and the stressing production time, but also investigating on the life of the working men outside their work place. This alienation is perfectly given by the original score of Ennio Morricone expressing in music throughout the atmosphere of the Italian factory during '70s: The relationship man-machine immersed in a hellish world of smoke and sparks, where the deafening and obsessive mechanical noise of the machines enters into the head at any moment of the working day, so dramatically, so desperately. Morricone has created an OST that alternates violent times to other ambiguous and apparently calm ones where a recurring military taste march dominates, with electronic effects, distorted electric guitars and mandolins in pure "Indagine su un cittadino.." style that imitate the noise of the industrial machines. For this CD, digitally restored and remastered, the full master tapes of the original session survived until today only in mono have been used and, in addition to the stereo mix of the original album tracks, six unreleased mono tracks have been added. De-Luxe eight-pages colour booklet enriched from archival photos. LIMITED PRESSING.
