JOHN BROWNING - COMPLETE RCA ALBUM COLLECTION twelve (12)CDs This new release from SONY is the first ever release of John Browning's complete recordings for RCA Victor from 1965 to 1996 on twelve albums. The set includes an extra album with a previously unreleased Debussy recital, adding five works to Browning's RCA discography. Six works appear here for the first time, remastered from the original analogue tapes using 24 bit/192 kHz technology. This set also includes his early single recording for Columbia Masterworks from 1964 of the Barber Piano Concerto. Also included is an informative booklet with a new essay by Jed Distler, and full discographical details. John Browning was known for his reserved, elegant style and his sophisticated interpretations of Bach and Scarlatti, as well as for his collaboration with American composer Samuel Barber. He led a busy career, performing around 100 concerts a season. His final public appearance was at the National Gallery of Art in Washington in April 2002.
