Kenny Rogers - Kan-gu-wa: Rocky Road To Stardom / 33-song anthology of the country superstar's early recordings as a CD in a jewel case with a 16-page 4c booklet on Hydra. Kenny Rogers began his career in the 1950s, showcasing his talent in a variety of musical styles. Whether with his school band The Scholars, with whom he sang doo wop, as a solo artist Kenneth Rogers, produced by rockabilly veterans like Bennie Hess and Ray Dogget, or with the jazzy Bobby Doyle Three. He also took part in sessions for artist friends such as Mickey Gilley, Bobby Hawks and his brother Lelan Rogers. All of these early recordings, including a previously unreleased song, are compiled here for the first time. Of course, his first hit "That Crazy Feeling," with which he even appeared on Dick Clark's "American Bandstand" TV show, isn't missing either. These songs show the "rocky path" he took before he became a superstar in later years with over 100 million records sold.
