Ken Lazarus began his career in the early days of "ska" music in Jamaica as lead vocalist for the legendary Byron Lee And the Dragonaires, a group that achieved great fame in the 1960's and again in the early 1970's as part of the huge Reggae boom. Lazarus also performed as part of the idiosyncratic Jamaican rock band, Tomorrow's Children; and also worked in the studios frequently as an arranger, producer and songwriter. In 1977 Lazarus recorded the solo album presented here playing guitar and singing lead vocals with an all-star cast of backing musicians including Ray Parker Jr.. (guitar); Marlo Henderson (guitar); Reggie McBride (bass, background vocals); Ollie E. Brown (drums, percussion); Alvin Taylor (drums); Trevor Lawrence (horns); Steve Madaio (horns); Larry McDonald (percussion); Oliver Brown (percussion); Reginald Burke (keyboards); Mac Rebennack (aka Dr. John) (keyboards); with Shirley Brewer, Delores Harvin, Carolyn Dennis, Rebecca Lewis and Phyllis St. James (background vocals). Lazarus wrote all the songs on the album with the exception of Steven Still's "Sugar Babe." Now finally available in the digital domain, all selections have been newly remastered.
